Rob Hopkins is a Certified Master Director and the musical director for the Mohawk Valley Chapter. He has been a chorus director for 34 of his 36 years in the Society. He sings baritone in Bravo!, a 2008 Seneca Land District (SLD) Champion quartet and SLD Representative to International Contests. His previous quartet, Harmonix, was the 2002 SLD Quartet champion and 2003-2006 international competitor. Rob has been active as a judge and arranger throughout his career, having served as an Arrangement Judge and then Music Judge from 1980 to 2004. He has served as chairman of the Society Contest and Judging Committee and the Music and Performance Committee. From 2001-2006 he served on the Society Board of Directors, and was Society President in 2004-05. He served as Seneca Land District President in 2008-2009. Rob has a Ph.D. in music history and theory from the University of Pennsylvania. He has taught at Hamilton College since 1983. He and his wife Kris have three children. |
